    Great Value for Your Money

An independent agent, not tied to any single insurance company, can help you discover the most cost-effective plan by offering access to various insurance companies' plans. This differs from working with a captive insurance agent who represents just one company. At Medicare.org, our independent licensed agents can compare rates from different insurers, ensuring you find the right plan that fits your budget and requirements.

    Personalized Service

Agents invest time in providing tailored Medicare quotes based on your unique factors like age, location, gender, and health concerns. By discussing your needs and budget with an agent, you can explore the most economical options for Medicare Advantage (Part C), Prescription Drug Plans (Part D), and Supplemental Insurance Plans (Medigap) that align with your needs

How Do You Get Paid? How Do We Work with You?

We thought you’d never ask! One challenge of our business model is that many people we assist with information and resources do not always end up utilizing our services. Nevertheless, the intangible value of clearing up confusion and providing accurate information amidst numerous solicitations outweighs this drawback.

In essence, as an independent brokerage, we earn our fees when someone enrolls in a plan with our assistance. There is no direct cost to you – our compensation is integrated into the premiums, meaning you are already paying for our services, whether you utilize them or not. Our agency does not impose any fees to support you with Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans. Should You Consult a Fee-Based Medicare Advisor?

You only need to sign up for Medicare if you (or your spouse) do not have creditable coverage. Creditable coverage from your employer implies that your insurance is as good as Medicare. If you are over 65 and lack creditable coverage, then you must sign up for Medicare.

The optimal time to enroll in Medicare is during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP). Your IEP spans 7 months around your birthday, starting three months before you turn 65 and concluding three months after. The start date of your Medicare plan is determined by your enrollment time, with earlier registration generally being the wiser choice.

If you have missed the Initial Enrollment Period, you may need to wait for the General Enrollment Period, running annually from January 1 to March 31. Your coverage will commence the following month after registration. It's important to note that delaying enrollment in Medicare may incur a Late Enrollment Penalty for every uncovered month post eligibility. However, eligibility for a Special Enrollment Period exempts you from this penalty. Here is a list of events that qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.

The price of prescription drugs will depend on the tier designated by your prescription drug plan (PDP) for that specific drug. Plans typically have up to 5 tiers, with prices escalating with each successive tier. Your price will also be influenced by the coverage phase you are in, such as initial coverage, donut hole, and catastrophic coverage, which come into effect after you pay your deductible.

    1. Your birth date

Your birth date helps an insurance agent know when you may be eligible to enroll in Medicare. Most people are eligible for Medicare three months before their 65th birthday.

    2. Your zip code

If you’re interested in exploring your Medicare plan options, providing an agent with your zip code can help them find Medicare Advantage plans in your area.

    3. Doctors and health care facilities you frequent

Not all doctors accept Medicare as insurance, and some that do may charge more for their services.

Providers who accept Medicare but do not accept Medicare’s reimbursement (known as “assignment”) as payment in full are called “non-participating providers.” This is a little confusing.

They still accept Medicare as a form of health insurance, but they do not have to accept Medicare’s approved amount for health care services as full payment, which means they can charge you more for healthcare services. This can increase how much you pay out of pocket for your care.

Some Medicare Advantage plans have networks of contracted providers, and you may be required to choose providers within your plan network when you seek medical care.

Providing a Medicare agent with a list of your doctors can help them determine which of your doctors/providers participate in Medicare and whether they are in any Medicare Advantage plan networks near you.

If you have been a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident for at least five consecutive years, you may qualify for Medicare Part A and Part B (also known as Original Medicare) if you meet one or more of the following criteria:

    - You are 65 years or older and eligible for retirement benefits through Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board.

    - You have a disability and have been receiving disability benefits for a minimum of 24 months.

    - You have amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease).

    - You have End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and require dialysis treatment or a kidney transplant.

There could be other situations not mentioned here that might also qualify you for Medicare.

IOriginal Medicare consists of two parts: Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) and Medicare Part B (medical insurance).

Examples of services covered by Medicare Part A include:

    - Inpatient hospital care

    - Inpatient care in a skilled nursing facility

    - Hospice care

Examples of services covered by Medicare Part B include:

    - Medically necessary doctor services

    - Durable medical equipment

    - Outpatient care

    - Some mental health services

    - Preventive services and some other medical services

Original Medicare generally does not cover prescription drugs or routine dental, eye care, or hearing care.

Medicare Advantage plans offer the same hospital and medical benefits as Original Medicare, plus additional benefits.

Medicare Advantage plans may include benefits not available in Original Medicare.

Medicare Supplement Insurance plans can assist in covering costs that Original Medicare does not cover, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Some Medigap plan types may also cover additional costs, such as emergency medical care received outside of the U.S.

Medicare Part D prescription drug plans can help cover some of the costs of certain prescription drugs. Some plans may offer lower out-of-pocket drug costs if you use in-network or preferred pharmacies.

Are you looking to enroll in Medicare prescription drug coverage?

You can compare Part D plans available where you live and enroll in a Medicare prescription drug plan online when you visit MyRxPlans.com.

Enroll in Medicare Part D at MyRxPlans.com

Original Medicare, Medicare Supplement Insurance, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Part D do not offer family coverage. Therefore, you and your spouse must enroll separately once each of you is eligible for a Medicare plan.

When speaking to a licensed Medicare agent, they can provide detailed information about coinsurance amounts for the plans in your area.
